The preform segment includes the old familiar names as well as one newcomer in the shape of SMF and we have also included Kortec this time because they are specialists in particular services (multilayer) in the preform machinery segment. Sipa comes up twice, once as a supplier of preform systems AND single stage machinery, whilst, in the single stage sector, Aoki will certainly be missed, together with the Spanish company Luxber who also featured in last year’s survey but who are missing this year. The fact that it is holiday time is surely the reason why we were unable to make contact with the companies and they have not responded to repeated inquiries.
