TRADE SHOW PREVIEW 43 PET planet insider Vol. 11 No. 09/10 www.petpla.net This amazes even the professionals: oval shapes can also be blow-moulded. Using ProShape – the latest module for the krones Contiform. www.krones.com K 2010, Düsseldorf 27 Oct. – 3 Nov. Hall 13, Stand A73 Granulators, shredders and recycling Machine and plant manufacturer Herbold Meckesheim will be presenting various new machinery, including new granulators in its HB series. It says that these can reduce to required granule size whole bales of film, bulk injection and blow moulding parts, bales of foamed plastics, etc, in a single step for fur- ther treatment. This eliminates the need for separate shredding and granulat- ing, it claims. The Herbold HGM wet shredder has been specially developed for highly contaminated plastic waste, such as agricultural film. By using water from outset, it is claimed to reduce wear and tear problems and increase efficiency. Also on the stand will be the company’s Plastocompactor, which com- pacts films, fibres and foams for the production of agglomerates with good flow properties. The PU 650 pulveriser is claimed to reduce both footprint and bearing strain by a vertically-mounted rotor. Dealing with heat and closures Toolmaker and injection mould manufacturer KTW (KTW Kunststofftechnik Waidhofen ad Thaya GmbH) will showcase its bottle closure solutions and a new partnership with Australian company Ritemp Technolo- gies. The two organisations are working together on a novel cooling process, which transfers heat from mould cavities to ‘water pockets’, located in the contour of the cavities. The system recir- culates evaporated vapour through a heat exchanger and returns it to the cavities as water. Excess heat from the exchanger is transferred to an external cooling circuit. On the Wittmann Bat- tenfeld stand D22 in Hall 16, KTW will show the simultaneous production and assembly of a two-part, multi-functional closure for cooking oil bottles. The Sumitomo Demag Stand D 22, Hall 15, will feature a KTW 72-cavity high-perform- ance mould for a PET bottle closure, in production on an EL-Elexis SP 300/2500.
