NEWS 9 PET planet insider Vol. 11 No. 09/10 www.petpla.net VISIT US 15B06 New joint venture company for filling recyclable PET Belgian company Resilux and Swiss-Dutch group I.P.S. (Innovative Packaging Solutions AG) have established Air0- Lux AG, a joint venture company registered in Bilten, Switzer- land. The new company will produce and assemble Air0Pack packaging products with a view to worldwide marketing and sale and continue development of the technology. The new company will initially use existing Resilux production facili- ties. The Resilux production site in Bilten has been prepared for the first mass production run, with deliveries scheduled for September 2010. Air0Pack is a technology for filling liquids, powders, gases and products of average-to high viscosity, such as gels, creams or foam, into recyclable PET packag- ing. Its central characteristic is a patented pressure control device that provides a continuous dispensing flow rate from start to finish, leaving a minimal amount of residual content. It is operated by ordinary, harmless, compressed air, rather than by conventional hydrocarbon chemical propellants. The companies say that this makes Air0Pack a sustainable, safer, more efficient and more environmentally friendly alterna- tive to both conventional spray cans in metal or aluminium, and mechanical dispensers, such as hand pumps, pressure pumps and trigger sprays. It is suitable for use in personal and beauty care, household products, the food industry and medical and pharmaceutical sectors. The joint venture between Resilux and I.P.S. came about because I.P.S. was looking for an experienced production partner with extensive logistical and production facilities in Europe and North America and with relevant expertise in PET injection moulding, PET blow moulding, PET injection blow moulding and blowing PET preforms. Air0-Lux AG was incor- porated on June 4, 2010. www.resilux.com 2010 China Brew & Beverage show supported by drinktec The next China Brew & Beverage (CBB) exhibition takes place from 7 to 10 September 2010 in Beijing, PRC. Drink- tec, the world´s leading trade fair for beverage and liquid food technology, will be supporting CBB in all its marketing activities in the future. The marketing cooperation between CBB and drinktec was sealed at drinktec in September 2009 and is reflected in the CBB header, which now carries the phrase ‘powered by drinktec’. The first CBB was held in 1995 in Beijing and has taken place in alternate years since then. It is developing into the most important event in the beverage and liquid food industry throughout the Asia-Pacific region; 491 exhibitors from 21 countries took part in CBB 2008. The number of exhibitors in 2010 is expected to be 10% higher and to cover an area 20% larger. Among the confirmed exhibitors are Krones, KHS, Sidel, Ziemann, Sacmi and Norit, who have welcomed the close cooperation between drinktec and CBB. In addition to the individual presentations by the big market leaders, there will be a joint presentation by German companies, as part of a German pavilion. CBB is follow- ing drinktec and expanding its range of products in 2010 to include liquid food. www.chinabrew-beverage.com.
