A further positive effect is the fact that the bottle is 100% recyclable in the bottle-to-bottle process despite the coating. This development of the FreshSafe concept is easy to inte- grate into the bottling line, the use of a few interfaces and direct bottle transfer ensuring that a high standard of hygiene is achieved. In the spring of 2015 the first FreshSafe Block went into production. “Using our FreshSafe coating on PET bottles has helped us achieve a significant rise in sales,” says Dr. Joachim Konrad, Manag- ing Director of KHS Plasmax GmbH who are responsible for the coating technology. In the context of the overall pres- entation, further products and services available as part of the broad spec- trum offered by KHS were discussed.
