The product is discharged via a hand-operated pump dispenser complete with lock. By twisting a component constructed in a contrasting colour the opera- tion of the pump dispenser is disabled. The container is deco- rated with a shrink sleeve and an additional label, as is often used in Japan, provides further information about the product. Long-lasting shower gel T h e c o sme t i c s manufacturer Shiseido is marketing 500ml of a shower gel with an additional benefit under the name of “Per- fect Bubble for Body” and in the fragrance ”Floral+”. According to the manufacturer the shower gel has an addi- tive that gives the user the feeling of having “freshly showered” and neutralises any body odour that develops. The product is packaged in a blue-tinged, bulbous bottle which is narrower at the sides. Screwed on to the opening of the container is a hand-operated pump dispenser with an operat- ing lock. Prior to operation the dispenser head needs to be moved from the locked posi- tion anti-clockwise into a pump position by means of a thread. Printing is directly on to the con- tainer and an additional brightly coloured, shiny metallic adhe- sive label is used as a medium to promote the advantages of the product. Bulbous bottle for haircare Utena, a cosmetics company from Japan, is market- ing 180ml of silicone-free hair care oil manufactured from natural raw materials under the name tag “Yuzu-Yu”. Yuzu is the name of a fruit, elements of which feature in the product, e.g. the oil is extracted from the skin. The brown-tinted, bulbous PET bottle is flacon-shaped with printing directly on the packaging. Before spraying on to dry hair, the product needs to be shaken approximately ten times to enable mixing of the components which are then subsequently discharged via a pump dispenser. The trigger features a locking function.
