BOTTLE MAKING 11 PET planet Insider Vol. 19 No. 03/18 www.petpla.net Freshly produced PET bottles PPT Mould, part of the core activi- ties of Pro PET, is a fully-equipped mould design operation that provides services from customer’s concept, to CAD drawing, to the completed injec- tion and blow mould, is to be found in another part of the facility. “This is our main characteristic”, says Mr San- thudkijkarn. “We do not only process on the plastics side; we regard our- selves as one-stop service providers who help customers save packaging cost and are prepared to accom- pany the customer through the entire production process, if required. The customer has the idea; we can do all the rest – design ideas and everything up to the finished bottle – right here on site.” The CNC equipment it has on site enables ProPET to produce to toler- ances of 10 microns. During our visit, the Mould Department was working virtually flat out. The quite popular two-shift process is employed 24/7. “We use high quality German steel, exclusively, for our moulds,” Mr Pookhaw says. We then made our way quickly, by golf cart, from the ProPET plant to the more or less adjoining TCK works, which produces three types of products: PET bottles for other applica- tions, such as detergents, personal care, beauty care, health and pharma- ceutical products; HDPE pallets; and PET extrusion sheet. “We see our future as lying primar- ily in PET packaging for food products and similar applications,” said Mr San- thudkijkarn. He indicated wide-mouth cans, that will soon be on the market, as ideal illustrations of the way the company is developing. www.pptthailand.com
