Ltd., one of the largest manufacturers of PET preforms and PET bottles in Eastern India. The company, which started operation in 1997, has grown to establish itself as one of the region’s most diversi fi ed manufacturers and, at the same time, is a leading company for PET bottles and jars. Today the company operates three factories under different names: Bharat Impex Pvt. Ltd., Indo Plast Packaging Pvt. Ltd. and Indo Plast Udyog Pvt. Ltd. Indo Plast Packaging Pvt. Ltd. May 2019 We met: Mr Varun Dabriwal, Director Of its total annual capacity of about 9,600t of preforms, 5,000t are sold to the market; the balance is blown into bottles. The company puts a strong focus on the fast-growing market of larger capacity fi ve gallon/20l jars. With a production of about 150,000 20l jars per month, it can be considered the biggest manufacturer in this fi eld in Eastern India. Cleanliness has top priority The three factories are home to 30 stretch-blow moulding machines, of two to four cavities, both automatic and semi-automatic. They can be fi tted with any of around 700 different stretch-blow moulds, ranging in size from 30ml to 20l. Preform production is undertaken on injection moulding machines from Toshiba, Milacron and ASB, all of which are Bisleri approved. A total of 75 dif- ferent injection moulds, from Demark, Sica, Huiyuan and Acme, are available. Domestic supplies of raw material come from IVL Dhunseri (Aspet) and Reliance. Some material is also imported. The company receives regular customer visits to inspect pro- duction, quality and test certi fi cates. “In order to ensure cleanliness and hygiene even during transportation, we operate our own internal fl eet of trucks,” says Director Varun Dabriwal. He estimates that PET consumption in Western India is four times higher than Eastern India and that overall PET growth in the East is about 20% per year. Indo Pet itself grew around 25% last year. Liquor and pharma bottles are currently in high demand and the dedicated single-stage machines are running at full capacity.
