INSPECTION 37 PETplanet Insider Vol. 27 No. 01+02/26 www.petpla.net – several years before they became mandatory in the EU, reflecting a proactive approach to foreseeable regulatory changes. A more recent topic which has started to attract growing attention within the industry is PET closures. Although this topic is still in an early phase, INTRAVIS is in close and continuous exchange with key stakeholders to evaluate what a potential shift towards PET as a base material for closures would imply for inspection technology. This early dialogue makes it possible to assess requirements well before they reach production scale. From today’s perspective, and based on the current state of knowledge, such developments do not require entirely new inspection systems or fundamental changes to existing solutions. Instead, the existing portfolio provides a solid technical basis to accommodate potential PET closure applications. This approach offers reassurance to manufacturers: Even if new material concepts are discussed at an early stage, they can be adopted to current inspection processes with just minimal adjustments. “Development means continuously observing how applications change and evaluating what this implies for inspection technology,” says CEO Dr Gerd Fuhrmann. This ongoing exchange ensures that INTRAVIS can support customers from the very beginning – advising early, assessing feasibility and accompanying the transition if and when new closure concepts gain relevance. New solutions built on experience Compact system designs, validation, data utilisation, and increasing product variety represent only a selection of the challenges closure manufacturers are currently facing. INTRAVIS addresses these topics by combining targeted new developments with experience gained from many years of customer projects. “Some solutions emerge directly from customer projects, others are developed in advance because we see certain topics gaining importance,” explains Marius Pötting, Product Manager for closure inspection systems. For manufacturers, the value lies not only in individual systems, but in working with a partner that recognises changing conditions and systematically translates them into practical inspection solutions. www.intravis.com
