EVENT PREVIEW PETplanet Insider Vol. 26 No. 07+08/25 www.petpla.net 40 SACMI to showcase complete cap and preform manufacturing solutions Performance-oriented approach SACMI will present a complete, high-capacity cap manufacturing line and its new IPS 400D preform injection press, focusing on first-rate productivity and total system integration, artificial vision and process control. A series of theme-based showcases will illustrate various solutions using original SACMI technology and moulds. For the first time, SACMI will exhibit in the PETpoint hall C5 at drinktec. The company will present a complete line with the CCM64MD press, alongside its latest solutions for slitting, folding, cap quality control and tamper band effectiveness. In addition, SACMI will display the IPS 400D preform system with optimised COOL+ post-cooling live in action. Digital control will also play a prominent role: Both production lines will feature SACMI’s SMARTPACK system, with operational data viewable in the on-site control room. Cap compression moulding line With 2,850 caps per minute from just 64 moulds (171,000cph) and specific consumption up to15% lower than on the previous range, the SACMI CCM64MD intends to set a new standard for cap manufacturing. Overall dimensions remaining equal, productivity is 50% higher and a single press can feed two high-capacity bottling lines. The press at the fair will feature a special mould to produce AB26WT14 caps and be set up to perform tethered slitting. A machine has a cycle time of just 1.35s. The entire line is designed quality inspection. During demonstrations, the machine will produce a 7.04g preform with a GME 30.28 neck, designed to be compatible with caps produced by the CCM compression system. The line combines SACMI’s COOL+ post-cooling system and FLOW+ hot runner to maximise productivity, quality and reliability. This synergy can shorten cycle times to 4.8 s, says SACMI. The IPS 400D is also designed for versatility, capable of running third-party moulds. Digitalisation of processes and artificial vision An emphasis will be placed on digital process control and automation, showcasing the integration of its SMARTPACK and SMARTCARE systems. The company aims to demonstrate the practical and economic benefits of digitalisation across the production line. SMARTPACK is a combined hardware-software platform installed across all machines in the line. It collects and monitors key process parameters, including the correct insertion of doses, the condition of SACMI Hall C5 – Booth 400 to maximise productivity while process controls streamline operators’ tasks, says SACMI. Once moulded, the caps enter the SFM15MA slitting machine - a new entry in the the company’s slitting-folding range - and are then sample-checked by the PFM (pull force machine). For the first time, both the compression press and the slitting machine feature SMARTPACK digital control packages, another first for SFM machines. The entire line will also demonstrate SACMI’s computer vision Classy AI system, which uses proprietary AI algorithms to automatically classify the detected defects. Comprehensive, predictive product/process quality control has also been facilitated by integrating the CVS152 (on the press) and the CVS154 (on the slitting machine) systems. New IPS 400D preform system The company’s latest addition to its preform range, the IPS 400D, features electric clamping and an energy recovery system, aiming to improve energy efficiency compared to earlier models. The system will be operating live throughout the exhibition, equipped with the first release of the SMARTPACK monitoring suite tailored specifically for the IPS platform. The press will also include the on-press PVS156 vision system for integrated The SACMI embedded video inspection systems take advantage of proprietary AI algorithms. SACMI will present a complete line with the CCM64MD press
