EVENT PREVIEW PETplanet Insider Vol. 25 No. 0/24 www.petpla.net 48 SIAPI highlights new systems for 5 gallon refi llables, combining speed, effi ciency, and handle integration Advances in large-format PET bottle production Based in San Vendemiano, Italy, SIAPI has specialised in 2-stage linear stretch-blow moulding machines since its founding in 1992. The company is particularly known for addressing technically complex PET packaging formats, including wide-mouth jars, hotfill containers, and unusually shaped bottles. Since joining the ATS Automation Group, a global provider of industrial automation solutions, SIAPI has continued to expand its international reach, with exports accounting for 85% of its turnover. At the show, SIAPI will unveil its latest innovations for the 5 US-gallon refillable bottles such as the Preform Stretch Booster (PSB), a system designed to ensure consistent bottle quality at higher output speeds. Available for the 2-cavity SX2 platform, the PSB has already been implemented at production sites in North America and Asia. SIAPI notes that it remains the only company currently offering this technology in commercial use for the 5 gallon refillable market. Another focus is the integration of the PSB with SIAPI’s HandleMatic system, which inserts the handle during the blowing phase. This combination, available for both single- and two-cavity machines, enables the efficient production of handled 5gallon bottles in a single step, improving process stability and reducing handling time. In addition, the company will introduce its new heating system, SIAPI Heat 2.0, developed to improve energy efficiency without compromising performance. As with all of its equipment, the system is fully electric and designed to ease operation. With in-house R&D capabilities and a focus on application-specific solutions, SIAPI serves niche packaging markets with machines tailored to specific production challenges. Its SIAPI (with CFT Group) Hall A6 – Booth 340 SIAPI Hall 13 Booth A12 SIAPI will present its latest advancements for 5 US-gallon PET refillable bottles, introducing new technologies aimed at increasing production speed, improving bottle quality, and reducing energy consumption. These developments underline the company’s longstanding expertise in large-format container applications, a segment it has served for more than two decades. )睨%睤睥 latest developments reflect the growing demand for high-performance, largeformat PET packaging solutions across global markets. Beyond large-format refillables, the company continues to expand its offering for specialised PET applications. SIAPI manufactures blow moulding systems for stackable containers intended to replace HDPE tanks in the oil and petrochemical industries. It also produces a full range of machines for wide-mouth jars with neck diameters from 63-180mm, a format that traditionally falls outside PET processing. In the beverage sector, SIAPI has also developed PET kegs for beer and carbonated drinks, providing a lightweight, one-way alternative to traditional steel kegs. SIAPI’s 2-step linear blow moulding machines are designed as efficient solutions for standard applications in the beverage industry (such as water, CSD, still drinks), as well as in the food (e.g., edible oil, milk) and chemical sectors. In these cases, the production process, up to 14,000bph, is consistent and stable, with a comparatively low and manageable TCO, says Siapi. www.siapi.it
