Krones says that its new product offers lower energy consumption, compared with current infra-red technologies. It also claims that it achieves high levels of process flexibility regardless of preform colour, PET material or proportion of recyclate. The company’s second major presentation will be its ProShape process. Based on existing heating and stretch blow-moulding technology in the Contiform series, a new module undertakes preform alignment and responsive temperature control for oval and asymmetric plastic containers. Krones says that station outputs of unusual designs and lightweighted oval containers can reach 2,000 units/h. Next-generation dryers, dosers, feeding and handling Italian company Piovan will be showcasing products cover- ing applications from the auto industry to PET containers. The Genesys dehumidifier system will be exhibited in its PET processing configuration. Its new, automatic, trolley- mounted Modula system, with a DP622 dryer and a variety of hoppers, is geared towards injection and blow-moulding. Lybra gravimetric and volu- metric dosers are designed to dose masterbatch, addi- tives and recycled materials. Systems on display will also include weight-loss solutions used in extrusion processes. Varyo vacuum units for compressed air powered gran- ule conveying regulate load- ing cycle stages automatically, with the intention of eliminating polymer mechanical stress and reducing electricity consump- tion. Also on the stand will be bio-resin processing equipment produced by American com- pany Universal Dynamics, as well as mould conditioning and refrigeration systems.
