The products of Hilge – until now part of the Grundfos Group – will be marketed under the brand GEA Hilge. Together with GEA Tuchenhagen pumps, the GEA Hilge products will constitute the Business Area GEA Hygienic Pumps. The company Hilge, based in Bodenheim, Germany, is specialised in products that include stainless steel centrifugal pumps. GEA, with its orientation to the process industry, espe- cially the food and beverages industry, represents a strong strategic partner for Hilge. This acquisition will enable the realisation of extensive synergy potential: for example, in the area of research and development. In addition, the worldwide GEA sales and service network will offer the possibility of a strengthened global presence. “With the acquisition of Hilge, we can fill technological gaps and continue to complement our product portfolio toward provid- ing complete process steps,” commented Jürg Oleas, CEO of GEA. “As a result, we can offer a greater variety of services to our customers in the future, in particular in the food and bever- age industry.” Visitors to the first joint GEA Hilge presentation at Brau Beviale, in Nuremberg from November 10 to 12, can obtain an overview of the new GEA portfolio.
