Company Profile
Starlinger Group, Austria, is an industrial company for mechanical engineering and process technology with focus on application-oriented solutions.
Starlinger’s Recycling Division, the business unit Starlinger recycling technology, specializes in machinery for the recycling and refinement of a wide scope of plastics such as PE, PP, PA, PS, BOPP and PET. With the well-known product line recoSTAR, Starlinger has become a global and leading player in the field of plastics recycling, and particularly so in the area of PET recycling systems.
Products/Technology
Starlinger recycling technology offers a wide range of innovative recycling machinery solutions for a variety of applications such as film, sheet, fibers, non-woven, raffia, tapes, bottles, preforms, and post-consumer waste.
Starlinger PET recycling systems produce food-safe r-PET in a process that has been approved for use in food applications by many brand owners as well as various national and international authorities such as the FDA (Food and Drug Administration, USA) and EFSA (European Food Safety Authority). The business unit Starlinger viscotec specializes in PET and HDPE decontamination technology and provides equipment for the decontamination and IV increase of PCR flakes and pellets. The technology guarantees food-grade material that meets FDA and EFSA standards and can be used directly in the production of food packaging.
Starlinger’s viscoSHEET PET sheet lines process virgin PET, PIR (post-industrial regrind) and up to 100 % recycled PET, resulting in r-PET sheet with guaranteed IV levels that meet FDA/EFSA requirements for food-grade applications.
For material that suffers from a strong smell (e.g. in the case of car tanks or containers for food or cleaners), Starlinger offers an Odour Reduction Technology for optimized regranulate fit for use in a variety of applications.
History
The family-owned company was founded in 1835 and started its export activities in the 1970s with machinery for woven plastic sacks made out of polypropylene fabric. Starlinger has been providing recycling machinery solutions for more than 30 years; the business unit Starlinger recycling technology was founded in 2000. Today, Starlinger delivers high-level technology to customers in over 130 countries; many of them are regular customers that have been doing business with Starlinger for years. Starlinger sales and service centres are located in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, Uzbekistan and the United States; in other countries the company is represented by agencies.
