Company Profile

Repi S.p.A., Italy, is a global supplier of high performance liquid colours, additives and dosing equipment for polyurethanes and thermoplastics. A technical service team provides worldwide support for trials and onsite training.

Facts and Figures

Products / Technology

Repi pioneered the use of liquid colour dispersions in the polyurethane industry and is one of the major liquid colour and additive solution providers, serving all plastics processing applications.

Liquid colours for thermoplastics and packaging: from transparent to opaque, pearlescent, metallic, fluorescent. The colouration by using liquid colours is uniform and obtainable by extremely low addition rates (as low as 0,001%), without sacrificing accurate dosing. There is no limit to the use of liquid colours, even at high let down rates in any application. Liquid colours can be formulated together to give “all-in-one” solutions which can sensibly improve product performance and protection. Where processing is concerned, liquid colours grant high processing stability and allow quicker colour change because of the easy cleaning procedures, thereby enhancing the sustainability of the whole process. Liquid colours give an overall economic advantage, beginning with the low addition rates of the colorants, on to the cleaning procedure up to reduced waste and inventory necessities as well as storage and logistic expenses.

Colour barriers: protection for the contents of the packaging from UV rays, visible light damage and the negative impact of oxygen.

  • UVS colour barriers:
lower the UV light transmittance between 300 and 400nm; the colours contain special additives with properties of UV light absorption. Typical applications: the beverage, beer and juices industries.
  • BS colour barriers: pigment/UV barrier formulations developed to colour barrier resins and resins containing oxygen scavenger additives, with no impact on the permeability properties of the final package. Typical applications: the food, beer and wine, juice fields.
  • LS colour barriers are specifically developed to protect the packaging content from visible light. Depending on the final application, different LS colour barriers can be customized according to marketing requirements as well. Typical applications: UHT and ESL milk and other dairy applications.
