Roman public transport company rewards PET bottle recycling
The Roman public transport company Atac rewards travellers who correctly deliver empty PET bottles. Passengers receive a bonus for each bottle of any size inserted in the special machines provided by Coripet (Consortium for the Recycling of PET) in metro stations. The bonus ends up in the “virtual purse” of the MyCicero or TabNet apps. Travellers can accumulate points without limits and discount them directly. The campaign “+Ricicli +Viaggi” lasts 12 months on an experimental basis.
In just two weeks, more than 60,000 bottles are already recycled in the Rome metro, a very promising start for the goal that has been set to reach over 1 million in a year.
