As a foretaste, PETplanet has invited Ms Petra Westphal, Exhibition Director of Drinktec, exclusively for you! In an interview with Alexander Büchler, Managing Director of PETplanet, Ms Westphal presented the highlights of the trade fair and reported on current topics of interest to the industry.

In addition, the companies Bericap, PackSys Global, Sacmi, StackTeck, Sumitomo (SHI) Demag and z-moulds offered insights into the innovations they will present at Drinktec!

Presenters

Drinktec: Ms Petra Westphal has been in charge of Project Group 4.2 in Business Unit IV of Messe München GmbH since 2010. In that position, the 56-year-old is responsible for drink technology India (dti) in addition to drinktec, the world’s leading trade fair for the beverage and liquid food industry as well as Interfrost, international key trade fair for forestry and forest technology. Petra Westphal’s portfolio also includes China Brew China Beverage (CBB) in Beijing, in which Messe München acts as co-organiser. Ms Westphal has many years of experience in trade fair management. The trained hotel manager has worked for Messe München since 1993, including two years as technical assistant, seven years as project manager and eight years as a project director of drinktec.

Bericap: Mr Thomas Schmidt, Group Marketing Director, will talk about: More ECOnvenience: Bericap presents sustainable and user-friendly closures at Drinktec 2022. Having joined Bericap in 2019 he brings with him more than 25 years of international experience in sales, marketing and communications. Prior to Bericap Thomas held management positions in different industries, among which packaging, plastics, fmcg, durable consumer goods, management consulting and advertising. As a graduated industrial engineer, he has always been passionate about marketing and sales of technical products.

PackSys Global: Mr Ueli Kobel, International Sales Manager & Product Manager Beverage & Specialties Division 

Ueli Kobel joined PackSys Global as Industrial Engineer in 1994 when the company started development of equipment for the plastic closure industry. His sales activities started in 2001 as technical sales manager globally. Later he took roles of Global Key Account Manager and responsibility as Product Manager for the Plastic Closure segment. He will talk about the latest developments for Temper Evident  Band forming equipment.

Sacmi: Mr Iacopo Bianconcini joined Sacmi Group in Imola, Italy, 21 years ago. He graduated in Management Engineering at Greenwich University in London, plus Master Educated in Marketing, Innovation Management and Digital Transformation at SDA Bocconi of Milan and Columbia University of NY. As a manager in Sacmi Imola headquarter, he is directly responsible for marketing and product development activities within the rigid packaging technologies division. His former experience as sales area manager and key account manager is a valuable and helpful background for his present role.

StackTeck: Mr Jordan Robertson, VP of Business Development and Marketing, graduate of McMaster University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA. He has 30+ years industry experience with injection moulds and systems in packaging applications. Jordan is officer of the SPI RPPG (Rigid Plastic Packaging Group), Board member of IMDA (In Mold Decorating Association) and joined StackTeck in 2001.

Sumitomo (SHI) Demag: Mr Arnaud Nomblot, Director Business Development Packaging, Sumitomo (SHI) Demag

“After a Plastics Processing Engineer Degree in 2007 and 6 years as Export Sales Manager for a French mold maker specialised in packaging, I joined Sumitomo Demag in 2012. Managing several projects in parallel in a highly competitive and international environment with long negotiations cycles I’m in charge together with my team of our business development in the packaging markets, mainly in the fields of thin wall IML, caps and closures or industrial buckets.”

z-moulds: Mr Michael Fink is Vice-President of Sales & Marketing at z-moulds, the Austrian closure and mould specialist. He is globally responsible for all sales activities and joined z-moulds in 2005. Before his VP role, he developed the closure business in emerging markets.
