2020 National Quality Award for Arca Continental

Arca Continental, one of the top Coca-Cola bottlers in the world, received the 2020 National Quality Award which is granted by the Mexican Ministry of the Economy (Secretaría de Economía) and managed by the Institute for the Promotion of Total Quality (Instituto para el Fomento a la Calidad Total, A.C.) for the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and excellence.

The award recognises best practices at the La Favorita Plant, which is located in the state of Jalisco and is one of the largest Arca Continental production facilities in Mexico.

“This award is proof of our team’s determination to incorporate Arca Continental’s values and cultural principles into their daily lives; it also motivates us to continue building a more agile and competitive organisation, focused on its employees and the development of its communities”, said Jorge Humberto Santos Reyna, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arca Continental.

The National Quality Award is the highest honour granted to companies in Mexico in terms of quality, continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainability. These competitive capabilities are assessed by means of a strict performance-validation process for each of this award’s indicators, which are national points of reference for excellence in Mexican companies.

“Our Comprehensive Floor Management System is among the best practices that made this award possible for us. The system includes performance indicators for several areas in our plant, including employee safety, automated processes, innovation, and sustainability, all of which contribute to a more efficient operation in the whole sense of the word”, explained Arturo Gutiérrez, CEO for Arca Continental.

This achievement is an addition to the National Quality Award and Iberoamerican Quality Award that were granted last year to PetStar, the largest food grade PET recycling plant in the world, which is led by Arca Continental.
