Coca-Cola: New PET line in operation at the Karlsruhe Germany plant

Just in time for its 40th anniversary at the site, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Germany (CCEP DE) has commissioned a new PET line in Karlsruhe, Germany. This means that the plant can now fill significantly more beverages: Up to 36,000 PET bottles, each containing 1.25 litres of beverages such as Coca-Cola, Fanta or Sprite, pass through the line every hour, and almost 2.5 million leave the plant every week. To achieve this, the beverage manufacturer has significantly expanded the Neureut site, also in the production-related supply areas and logistics. CCEP DE has invested 15 million euros and created more than 60 new jobs. The company informed about the installation of the line and the expansion at the site in August 2021.

The new PET line, which was inaugurated at the beginning of the year, strengthens the supply of the production network around Karlsruhe five days a week after the successful relocation. In addition, up to 120,000 cans are produced every hour. The production times have been extended: From now on, the canning line runs around the clock.

Plant expansion in logistics and production-related supply areas

In addition to the new PET line, there are other changes at the plant: Six loading ramps have been implemented for faster truck handling, making the loading process more efficient. Further innovations can be found in the water treatment and syrup room: the water capacities required to supply the two lines were doubled to supply the new line, and the tanks in the syrup room were replaced and expanded. The conversion was rounded off by a new concentrate station and purification plant.
