Coperion takes over Herbold Meckesheim

According to the regional newspaper RNZ, the Coperion Group, headquartered in Stuttgart, is taking over the special machinery manufacturer Herbold Meckesheim. The name and brand of Herbold Meckesheim, as well as the company’s location, will be retained after the takeover, Herbold announced on Monday, 4th of July 2022. A purchase price was not mentioned. The current management will also remain in office. The companies expect the acquisition to be completed in the third quarter of the current business year – subject to the expected approval of the authorities.

Herbold Meckesheim, a family-owned company founded in 1884, employs about 240 people at its headquarters in Meckesheim, its production site in Reichartshausen and its US subsidiary in North Smithfield, Rhode Island.  Herbold Meckesheim develops and produces machines and plants for plastics recycling. Coperion is also active in plastics recycling and belongs to the US group Hillenbrand Inc.
