Aseptic technology from Sidel implemented at Ferrarelle Società Benefit
Italian Ferrarelle Società Benefit partnered with Sidel to install its first aseptic line at the Boario plant to produce its product range of Vitasnella ‘Le Linfe’ functional water and teas. The bottler is one of the largest mineral water producers in Italy, well-known for its naturally sparkling water brands. “Boario”, “Vitasnella” and “Fonte Essenziale” mineral waters are bottled at its Boario plant, close to the Iseo Lake.
Ferrarelle Società Benefit chose Sidel’s Aseptic Combi Predis technology to produce its new range of functional water and teas. The aseptic technology is claimed to ensure a high-end taste experience, product integrity, and a long shelf-life, utilising its Predis dry preform decontamination solution – a safe, hygienic, and cost-effective method of packaging a variety of sensitive beverages, according to Sidel.
By implementing Aseptic Combi Predis to produce the ‘Le Linfe’ product range, Boario’s line is capable of handling two different formats, 0.5 liters and 1.25 liters, achieving a production rate of 18,000 bottles per hour. This system is designed to guarantee full production sterility, beverage integrity, and food safety with user-friendly operations.
Sidel asserts that its Aseptic Combi Predis offers a simple and secure dry preform decontamination with the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) on the market and an optimised environmental footprint. No water is used in this process, and the use of chemicals is minimised, aligning with high sustainability standards. The system maintains a high output, ease of operations, and flexible production.
