Engel opens new plant in Mexico
With the opening of a new production site in Querétaro, Mexico, Engel is strengthening its market presence in the Americas and expanding regional manufacturing capacities. The goal is to offer customers in North and South America faster delivery times and greater availability of injection moulding machines.
With the newly acquired plant, Engel has the necessary capacity and infrastructure to significantly expand production. Additionally, the Querétaro site provides ample space for future expansions. The decision to acquire this facility was made with a focus on long-term growth, allowing the company to further increase production capacity as market demand rises.
Engel plans to significantly ramp up production in Mexico, further expanding its capacity to supply high-quality injection moulding machines to customers across the Americas. The plant is designed to ensure an efficient production flow while offering the flexibility needed to adapt to changing market demands. Alongside increasing production, Engel is also expanding its workforce.
The Querétaro facility will be gradually modernised to meet the company’s high production standards. As part of a long-term investment plan, the Engel is strategically optimising its infrastructure, including expanding the existing assembly line system and adding additional processing capabilities. These measures aim to enhance production efficiency while maintaining Engel’s quality standards.
At the new site, Engel will manufacture the e-mac series (fully electric small machines), the WINTEC t-win series (hydraulic two-platen large machines), and custom automation solutions. This ensures the availability of the most in-demand models in the region. By investing in local production, the company can better serve its customers with tailored solutions and shorter delivery times.
Long-term vision in Mexico
Mexico is an important industrial and manufacturing hub for Engel. The country is claimed to offer ideal conditions for production companies and skilled labour, making it a prime location for long-term investments. Additionally, Mexico and Latin America represent key and growing markets for injection moulding technology.
