Growing PET recycling challenges
Holland Colours, PRSE 2025 Booth A90
Holland Colours debuts expanded additives solutions at exclusive Networking Event & PRSE 2025 to address growing PET recycling challenges – New innovations improve rPET quality, support recycling goals and accelerate the packaging industry’s transition to a circular economy.
The global PET recycling industry is at a critical turning point. While businesses strive to meet sustainability targets, many struggle to maintain the quality and performance of recycled PET (rPET) materials. At Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRSE) 2025, Holland Colours will introduce CircStab, its latest stabilizer, along with an expanded recycling solutions bundle designed to overcome key recyclability challenges. CircStab is also a finalist in the Product Technology Innovation category of the Plastics Recycling Awards Europe (PRAE) 2025. To mark this launch, Holland Colours will host an exclusive networking event, offering industry leaders a first-hand look at these breakthrough solutions ahead of PRSE.
The recycling challenge – There are currently many challenges across the value chain of rPET:
- Colour degradation (increased b*, reduced L*), making rPET less visually appealing.
- Intrinsic viscosity (IV) loss, reducing material strength and performance.
- Cost efficiency pressures while transitioning from virgin to recycled PET.
With the industry under pressure to reduce reliance on virgin materials and embrace a more circular economy, these challenges have never been more urgent.
Holland Colours’ recycling solutions at PRSE 2025
At PRSE 2025, Holland Colours will debut its recycling solutions bundle, which includes innovative products designed to tackle the core problems of rPET quality and performance head-on:
- CircStab: This new stabilizer protects rPET during the recycling process and prevents degradation. It stabilizes rPET against the challenges of repeated recycling cycles, preserving both aesthetic appeal and functional properties.
- TintMask: neutralises colour cast in rPET, enabling a broader range of recycled PET for colorless bottles while maintaining brand aesthetics.
- ViscoBoost: improves the viscosity of rPET, enabling shorter SSP times and allowing for the creation of thick-walled bottles.
- ReWhite: improves light-blocking and is a key solution for circular packaging in dairy applications.
A step toward a more sustainable future
“We believe that the future of packaging lies in the circular economy. With our new solutions, we are addressing the critical barriers to PET recyclability while helping businesses achieve their sustainability goals. By enhancing rPET quality, reducing costs, and improving processing efficiency, we are empowering manufacturers to take meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future,” said Steve Horrocks, Business Development Manager Packaging at Holland Colours.
An intimate industry gathering ahead of PRSE
Before PRSE, Holland Colours is bringing together its network across the packaging supply chain for an intimate gathering to connect, exchange insights and preview these latest innovations first-hand. This event will spark discussions and set the stage for meaningful conversations during the exhibition. Attendees will get a first look at CircStab and the expanded recycling solutions bundle in an exclusive setting.
Event highlights:
- First-hand experience with Holland Colours’ latest PET recycling solutions.
- Networking with key industry professionals.
- Exclusive guest speakers
“As the plastics and recycling industry undergoes transformation, we want to bring our network together to lead the change. This gathering is an opportunity to connect, discuss key challenges, and explore the solutions shaping the future of PET recycling,” said Raymond Jongman, EMEIA Sales Manager at Holland Colours.
