MAAG Group strengthens its position in India
MAAG Group, a global supplier of systems and solutions for the polymer industry, is strengthening its presence in India through its Vadodara-based subsidiary. With a focus on localised production and expanded service capabilities, the Oberglatt, Switzerland-headquartered company aims to meet growing demand in one of its key regional markets.
India has become an increasingly important market for MAAG, particularly in the polymer, chemical, and petrochemical sectors. The company has been active in the region via partners since 1980. Its strategic commitment was reinforced in 2016 with the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary in Vadodara, in the state of Gujarat. The site now employs more than a dozen local specialists.
MAAG India focuses on localised products such as strand pelletisers. Customers in India thus benefit from machines that are precisely tailored to their regional requirements and at the same time meet the quality standards from German production. This localised portfolio is complemented by a comprehensive on-site service: Native-speaking technicians from the MAAG team provide maintenance and consulting services throughout the country to ensure reliable and long-term use of the machines.
MAAG also operates its own grinding center in India for cutting rotors on pelletising systems. The site is part of the world’s largest service network in the polymer industry, which includes a total of eight grinding centers across the globe. MAAG passes on its manufacturing expertise to local specialists. Equipped with state of the art machinery, MAAG India specialists are able to provide a quick, reliable and professional grinding service for cutting rotors, including those from other manufacturers, says the company. The precision of the regrinding on the entire tooth profile is claimed to ensure long-lasting granulation results and optimised cutting rotor lifetime.
Vadodara, located about 400 km from Mumbai, has become an attractive hub for international companies in recent years and a first choice location for MAAG India. The city has a population of around 2.1 million and is centrally located in the state of Gujarat.
