Commercialised recyclable, recycled, and bio solutions to advance circularity
SK Chemicals, Hall 6 – Booth E80
At its booth, SK Chemicals will showcase its portfolio under three themes: recycling, bio-based materials, and recyclability. Central to this is, amongst others, SKYPET CR, a circular-recycled PET produced through chemical depolymerisation, which allows repeated recycling without loss of quality. The material is already being applied in textiles, films, food and cosmetics packaging, and engineering plastics. A recent partnership with Austrian automotive carpet maker Durmont underscores its growing adoption by industry.
Other polyester-related innovations include SKYPET CR’s closed-loop model, a circular-recycled PET produced via Circular Recycle (chemical recycling) and applicable to textiles, films, food and cosmetics packaging, and engineering plastics; ECOTRIA CLARO, a copolyester that combines recycled raw materials with recyclability within PET streams; and SKYPEL, a polyester-based thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPEE) that features both biomass-based (ECOPEL) and post-consumer recycled grades.
Together, these developments aim to highlight how bio-based feedstocks, recycling technologies, and closed-loop systems maintain quality while reducing dependence on virgin materials.
