Dry ice blasting solutions for the plastics industry
Cold Jet, Hall 11- Booth G12
Cold Jet will be showcasing its dry ice blasting equipment with live demonstrations, all aligning with the exhibition’s central motto: “The Power of Plastics! Green-Smart-Responsible.” Experts will present Cold Jet machines live at the booth. A special highlight will be the opportunity for visitors to bring their own test pieces. The Colf Jet team will clean them directly on-site, to demonstrate the versatility and effectiveness of the technology.
The Cold Jet Aero2 PCS Ultra and i³ MicroClean 2
The highlight of Cold Jet’s exhibition presence will be two state-of-the-art machines specifically designed to master the complex demands of the plastics industry.
The Aero2 PCS Ultra excels with its patented Particle Control System (PCS), which allows precise adjustment of dry ice particle size from the finest 0.3 mm up to robust 3.0 mm. This unparalleled versatility is claimed to enable adaptation to every cleaning task – from very gentle treatment of delicate surfaces to aggressive removal of the most stubborn contaminants. For the plastics industry, this means a flexible solution for numerous applications, whether it is thorough cleaning of injection moulds, efficient de-flashing, or careful surface preparation before painting. Additionally, the integrated Smart functionality with IoT connectivity (Cold Jet CONNECT) enables intelligent process monitoring, contributing to further efficiency gains.
As the next generation of precision cleaning, Cold Jet presents the i³ MicroClean 2. This machine is designed to combine power and efficiency in a lightweight and compact form. It is suitable for precisely cleaning fine details and hard-to-reach areas in complex plastic moulds. The machine is characterised by lower air consumption and reduced noise levels, contributing to a greener and more responsible working environment. Its precision is invaluable for highly complex moulds and sensitive applications where high quality and absolute cleanliness are crucial, says Cold Jet.
Dry ice blasting
Dry ice blasting offers an environmental advantage because it is a dry process, meaning no water or harmful chemicals are needed. As the dry ice sublimates completely into gas upon contact, there is no secondary waste generated. This directly supports “Zero Landfill” initiatives, cutting waste disposal costs and risks and contributing to greener, more responsible plastics production.
Cold Jet explains that moulds can be cleaned hot and directly in the machine. This reduces cleaning times by up to 75% and reduces downtimes. Dry ice is non-abrasive and leaves no residue. This protects sensitive surfaces and the fine contours of moulds, significantly extending lifespan.
