Two anniversaries at CHT China factories
Two sites of the CHT Group recently celebrated their company anniversary. The Chinese site CHT Dongguan has just celebrated its 30th anniversary, the Chinese site CHT Tianjin its 15th anniversary.
As early as in the 1960s, Reinhold Beitlich, who founded the chemical company CHT in 1953 in Tübingen, Germany, realised the great potential of subsidiaries all over the world. During this expansion phase the first subsidiaries were founded in Austria, France, South Africa and in Switzerland. This growth and diversity phase has continued until today, so that CHT Group is represented by subsidiaries and corporate acquisitions on all continents.
CHT Dongguan Factory
Established in 1995, CHT Dongguan is strategically located in the heart of the Greater Bay Area, with convenient access to Guangzhou and Shenzhen (both within a 1-hour drive). Spanning 24,400m², the facility integrates production lines, warehousing, an advanced application lab, and office spaces, supported by a team of 54 employees. Following a major production line upgrade in 2017, the factory now boasts an annual capacity of 9,000 MT. As the Dongguan factory celebrates its 30th anniversary, it has also taken on a brand-new look and exudes vigorous vitality.
The CHT Dongguan site produces a wide range of products – primarily but not exclusively for textile solutions, it serves not only Southern China but also exports 60–70% of its output (2024 data) as a strategic APAC supply hub, leveraging its technical expertise, port proximity, and raw material sourcing advantages. Its application lab with state-of-the-art equipment and expanded its technical team in past three years.
CHT Dongguan complies with ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) standards. Its investments in initiatives such as warehouse optimisation, NOx reduction in boiler emissions, and specific resource reduction (including >50% reduction in specific water consumption) underscores its commitment to sustainable operations.
CHT Tianjin Factory
Founded in 2010, CHT Tianjin is focused on building strategic partnerships with key customers such as Laird and Daktronics, continuously providing high-performance solutions for silicone material related applications. The company has a 3,611m2 factory equipped with production lines, warehouses, application laboratories, and office space, employing 15 people. The facility boasts an annual production capacity of 1,200 tons, ensuring a stable and scalable supply.
CHT Tianjin complies with ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) standards. CHT Tianjin operates two application labs for Industrial Solutions in the high-performance materials, paper technology, and healthcare markets, providing innovative technology solutions to the Asia-Pacific region.
