Adhesive specialist CPH with new management and new name
The German adhesive specialist CPH, which has been developing and producing high-performance adhesives for beverage and food packaging since 1975, will now operate under the name “CPH Adhesives GmbH,” marking a new chapter in its nearly 50-year history. This change coincides with a comprehensive rebranding.
The new name and brand identity aim to reflect the transformation the company has undergone in recent years, accounting for its strategic realignment and a generational shift in leadership. Marco Grüter, 36, is the new managing partner, following the departure of founder Gerwin Schüttpelz, 74, in April 2024. In addition to a new colour scheme and typography, the core of the new brand identity is the updated CPH logo.
“The difficult situation in global raw material markets, which started in 2020 with Covid-19, hit CPH hard, like many other companies,” said Marco Grüter, CPH’s new managing partner. “Since then, however, a lot has happened at CPH to remain a reliable partner for our customers. We are deeply integrated into our customers’ processes and must not disrupt them under any circumstances. The reliable supply of our customers and the consistently high performance of our products define us. A logical step to convey this important message is the rebranding,” Grüter added.
At its Essen, Germany, location, CPH develops, produces, and distributes industrial adhesives for labelling and packaging, exporting them to over 40 countries worldwide. Sustainability is also a key focus. With its water-based labelling adhesive Regain, CPH earned second place in the “Sustainable Impact Award” by German ‘WirtschaftsWoche’ in 2023, in the category “Impact of Product.”
