Srichakra triples bottle-grade rPET production capacities
With the two new Starlinger PET bottle-to-bottle recycling lines, Srichakra Polyplast is tripling its total food-grade rPET production capacities, reaching an annual output of 42,000 tons. Founded in 2010, Srichakra Polyplast Pvt Ltd. has become the leading plastics recycling and waste management company in India. The manufacturer of high-quality PET, polyolefin flakes and regranulates made from post-consumer plastics, specialises in providing superior recycled products for the packaging industry. In addition to these plastics, Srichakra Polyplast also supplies customers with rHDPE and rPP pellets. Srichakra Polyplast has a number of certifications and LNOs, including from FSSAI, EFSA and FDA, making it India‘s first recycling plant for food-grade plastics.
“Due to the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility by the Indian government and the requirement for brand owners and producers to include a share of 30 % of post-consumer recycled PET in their beverage bottles by 2025, the demand for rPET in India is on the rise”, said PV Ravindra, Managing Director and CO-Founder at Srichakra Polyplast.
The company has therefore decided to expand its production with two new recoSTAR PET 165 HC iV+ PET bottle-to-bottle recycling lines, which include two viscoSTAR 180. The new systems have been installed at Srichakra‘s recycling plant on the outskirts of Hyderabad, where the existing Starlinger systems – a viscoSTAR for odor reduction for processing post-consumer polyolefins and a PET bottle recycling system – are already in operation. “The excellent performance and reliability of our existing Starlinger systems made it clear that we opted again for Starlinger technology to carry out our expansion project.”
