Sidel launches square bottle design for still water with liquid nitrogen dosing

Breaking away from the conventional cylindrical shape, Sidel has introduced Nitro Square – a distinctive, high-performance bottle design for still water using liquid nitrogen dosing.

“The nitrogen-dosed water bottle market is largely dominated by cylindrical forms, as this is the natural shape created by the internal pressure of the bottle’s contents,” comments Xavier Monnier Packaging Innovation Polymer Expert. “Nitro Square allows manufacturers to elevate their brands with a unique square design that stands out on the shelf, secures its shape and performance across the supply chain and is valid for rPET.“

Unique style, high resistance

Nitro Square’s structure balances rigid sections with flexible, pressure-absorbing surfaces. This ensures that the bottle’s square shape is retained while offering new, creative and eye-catching designs.

The bottle also features Sidel’s signature wave-shaped StarLITE-R Nitro base that aims to reinforce its appeal and performance while ensuring stability and drop resistance.

An easy-to-customise design facilitates alignment with a brand positioning, whether premium, mainstream or affordable, and it is available in both single- and multi-serve formats, says Sidel. Integration is straightforward with existing Sidel solutions, including Universal, Series 2, and EvoBLOW machines, enabling production speeds of up to 2,600 bph per mould.
