Austrian plastics converter Alpla takes over Plasco S.p.a.
The Austrian group of companies Alpla, producer of plastic packaging with 154 production plants in 40 countries and a turnover of ca. 3 billion Euros, will take over via its Italian subsidiary Alpla Italia s.r.l., located in Tortona (AL), 100% of the leading Italian PET preform producer Plasco S.p.A.
Plasco was founded in 1995 by private shareholders. The company counts among its customer the main Italian and international beverage, milk, tinned food and fruit juice producers. The company with head offices in the historic town Anagni (FR) counts 70 employees; a subsidiary was recently founded in Atella (PZ). Plasco produces more than 2.5 billion preforms per year.
This takeover, which shall be concluded by the end of November, will reinforce the presence of over 30 years of the ALPLA group in Italy, which currently employs approx..300 people in five production plants (Tortona, Anzio 1 and 2, Lomazzo, Ferentino). With the acquisition of Plasco, the product portfolio of the Austrian group of companies will thus be completed in Italy.
