Krones cycling bottle wins A’Design Award 2016
The Krones cycling bottle has been awarded the “Packaging Design” in this year’s A’Design Award for its extraordinary design. The bottle consists of stable PET, is said to be sturdy and can be reused. Geometric embossments in the body and neck area enhance the container to a veritable eye-catcher. An ergonomic grip area ensures that the bottle fits comfortably in the hand.
The bottle’s design included the application of the digital Krones DecoType ink-jet system which applies ink in a direct-print method onto the bottle. This is said to enable a great variety of designs.
The Krones cycling bottle originated from the idea to design an individual advertising gift. Three Regensburg students completing their internship at Krones in the Container Design Department realised this project under the direction of Timo Janssen and Jochen Forsthoevel (Krones AG). The Krones cycling bottle was now awarded the A’Design Award 2016 in the “Packaging Design” category. The international competition awards a design prize each year in various categories. The awards ceremony took place at June 8 in the Italian city of Como.
