Morssinkhof-Rymoplast is building a PET processing plant in Germany

Morssinkhof-Rymoplast is building a PET processing plant in Markranstädt, in the Leipzig-region in Saxony, Germany. From recycled PET raw material PET granulate will be produced, which will be used for the production of new water bottles and the soft drink industry. This plant is a valuable addition to the existing recycling activities of Morssinkhof-Rymoplast in the Netherlands. The new recycling plant will produce 40,000 tonnes of high-quality recycled PET annually, thereby avoiding nearly 175,000 tonnes of CO2 per year, states the company.

Stefan Morssinkhof, director of Morssinkhof-Rymoplast: “For more than 60 years we have been an important part of the chain of plastic processing companies, who together create a closed loop. For more than 20 years, Morssinkhof-Rymoplast has been producing recycled PET granulates, which can be used entirely for the production of food packaging. Several large brand owners largely depend on the high and consistent quality of Morssinkhof-Rymoplast rPET. Due to the increased demand for recycled PET for bottles, we have decided to invest in this factory. By buying the property in Saxony, we can further expand our capacity as a group and optimal serve our customers in this region.”
