Engel resumes manufacturing and assembly operations in Austrian plants

Engel has resumed production, manufacturing and assembly in its Austrian plants. The two machine factories in Schwertberg and St. Valentin, as well as the robot factory in Dietach, could be ramped up as planned after the Easter holidays. Some of the work in the offices is also being done on site again.

Together with the Engel Health Team, the management has developed framework conditions and guidelines that enable safe working in all departments. They are based on the recommendations and regulations of the authorities and have been adapted to the requirements in the various work areas. For example, the flow of people has been limited by staggering working and break times and the seating arrangements in the office areas have been rearranged to ensure that the minimum distance of 1.5 metres to other people is maintained. Engel provides its employees with protective masks, has shortened cleaning intervals and ensures that frequently used facilities and equipment are regularly disinfected.

Engel had decided to interrupt production, manufacturing and assembly at its Austrian plants in mid-March after the number of Covid-19 infections in the regional vicinity of the plants had risen sharply. Sales, service including hotline and spare parts department, as well as application technology were available to Engel customers worldwide without any restrictions. Many employees still work from home.
