PET Technologies and our first campsite

All our hard work into the wee small hours of the morning has undoubtedly taken its toll. Getting up is a real struggle and even a solid dose of caffeine fails to get us going. Nonetheless we arrive bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at our appointment with PET Technologies.

This machine manufacturer was built out of nothing 15 years ago. Its old production areas bear witness to its remarkable growth. Every square inch is crammed with production machines. Currently, a new 3000m2 production facility is under construction. Today they are delivering advanced linear stretch blowmoulding machines with capacities of up to 6000 b / h.

We are keen to have a look around Kiev in the evening and first off we need to find a secure parking space. The park and ride facilities at the metro stations do not seem to us to be safe options. Finally, however, our satnav comes up trumps, locating a beautifully situated campsite, the first on our part of the tour. It is located on an island in the river Dnep and is connected by a pedestrian bridge to the city centre. After little more than a 30 minute walk, we find ourselves on the main square.
