Ashish Saxena is appointed vice president & general manager of LiquiForm Group

Amcor Rigid Plastics has announced the appointment of Ashish Saxena as vice president and general manager of LiquiForm Group LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amcor. Saxena will be based at Amcor’s Saline, Michigan, USA facility and will report directly to Amcor Rigid Plastics President Michael Schmitt.

In his new role, Saxena will be responsible for directing the LiquiForm technology from concept to commercialisation, according to Schmitt. He replaces Ann O’Hara, who was recently named vice president and general manager of Diversified Products at Amcor Rigid Plastics.

LiquiForm is a blow moulding and filling manufacturing technology which uses consumable, pressurised liquid instead of compressed air to form plastic containers. By combining the bottle forming and filling processes into one step, this technology is said to eliminate numerous manufacturing steps, reducing cost and waste.

Saxena has previously served as LiquiForm sales and marketing director and oversaw strategy and licensee sales. Saxena also worked with joint venture shareholders to develop, negotiate, and maintain licensing agreements and create end user interest in LiquiForm technology. He joined Amcor in 2014 as Director of Corporate Strategy and Business Development. Among his responsibilities were strategic priorities including the Beverage Unit’s value-added services model, Diversified Products’ scan for potential acquisitions, and the LiquiForm business model.

Prior to joining Amcor, Saxena worked as a management consultant with McKinsey & Co. and served as a sales manager for Indian Oil Corp. He holds a Master’s of Business Administration from the London Business School and a bachelor of arts in economics and mathematics from St. Stephen’s College in Delhi, India.
