Dry ice cleaning technologies at Fakuma

To introduce the latest Cold Jet Plastics Edition line to the visitors of Fakuma, Cold Jet’s dry ice application and plastics expert, Steve Wilson from the company’s headquarters in the USA was on site. He answered questions and provided visitors with information about Cold Jet’s tailored plastics equipment and accessories, specifically designed to substantially reduce downtime and increase mould cleaning effectiveness in the plastics and rubber industries. Visitors could see Cold Jet’s integrated cleaning solution, a Plastics Edition i³ MicroClean, along with a robot. The combined system demonstrated the automated cleaning of moulds, PET preform moulds, deburring and surface preparation prior to painting.

Cold Jet’s cleaning process provides a non-abrasive and environmentally responsible cleaning method that allows the user to clean moulds and other products in a fraction of the time, extending cycles between preventative maintenance and preventing the risk of flashes, short shots, mould damage, splay and weld lines. In addition, moulds can be cleaned hot and in-place, without water, without chemicals or creation of secondary waste.
