Editorial

Dear readers,

With the onset of the coronavirus, your company will no doubt be making arrangements to ensure that production continues. If you are working in the drinks’ manufacturing sector, you will be having to deal with a significant rise in regional demand under increasingly demanding circumstances such as sick staff, difficult logistics or even shortages in the supply of raw materials.

Companies in China and Italy in particular are being confronted with major challenges, which businesses in other countries have yet to face.

Trade fairs are also being hit hard, with Chinaplas moved from April to August and Interpack from May to next year, to list just two of many such examples.

We are also facing a number of challenges at our publishing house. All our employees work in the home office and we had, in fact, carried out an upgrade of our IT systems at the end of last year. Unfortunately, we have to admit that our global distribution of magazines is not running as smoothly as we would hope. We have therefore decided to send you an online access link via e-mail in addition to the printed magazine. If you do not receive this e-mail, it means we do not have your address on our system. Should that be the case, please contact us and we will send you the link.

The coronavirus has of course affected our programme of Editours, which should have started in New Zealand in April. We are currently working on a new idea, more of which we will share with you as usual from the regions.

Keep well!

Yours

Alexander Büchler
