Holland Colours’ new generation slip agent
Holland Colours announces the expansion of its portfolio with its new generation slip agent, the Holco Slip 271-Series. Holco Slip shall prevent damage and allows for more storage. The slip agent for PET is a product that focuses on reducing the coefficient of friction (COF) during preform production. Lowering of the COF results in an easier release of the preforms from the cavities, scratch-free preforms due to less friction and drop marks from falling preforms into the octabin.
Typically, 10% more preforms can be stored into an octabin, reducing storage and transportation costs. The new generation slip additive can also be used at a considerably lower dosing level, typically to 50% lower, to reach the same effect as competitive solutions in the market, says the company. Furthermore, the slip agent is compatible with most liquid additive / colorant dosing systems.
Further features say that the additive is bio-based, environmentally and food contact safe, has negligible influence on the PET-conversion process (no discoloration) and preforms shall be ejected easier from the core of the mould. HolcoSlip is overall a proven cost efficient additive to support operation.
