LMF - Leobersdorfer Maschinenfabrik GmbH is an austrian manufacturer of high-pressure piston compressor systems for air, natural gas as well as technical and industrial gases (process gases) within a power range of up to 6200 kW (8000 hp) and final pressures of up to 700 bar (10150 psi). The high-pressure piston compressor systems by LMF are developed and manufactured according to internationally applicable standards. LMF offers its clients all relevant services as a one-stop provider, from engineering to manufacturing and testing under full load, start-up and maintenance. The modular product range structure allows customised solutions for clients, regarding both technical and economic aspects.

  • 1850 – foundation by Josef Berger
  • 1901 - Viktor Kaplan, inventor of the „Kaplan-water turbine”, joins the staff of the Leobersdorfer Maschinenfabrik as design engineer

  • 1946 - production program extendeds to compressors for air and other gases as well as air driven tools

  • 1980 - first high pressure compound compressor units for seismic research vessels are built and supplied
  • 1992 - ISO 9001 certificate Speed-controlled compressors are developed
  • 1996 - “AIR-Logic“ control system is introduced to enable load bases and energy optimized operation
  • 2000 - development of high speed compressors in „boxer“design aircooled series BS
  • 2005 - development of a new generation of compound units, based on high speed compressors in „boxer“ design

  • 2009 - centrifugal compressor development for PET
