Hapa is a swiss company that is specialized in research, development and production of printing system solutions and is headquartered in Volketswil, Switzerland.

Hapa stands for the benefits of just-in-time and On Demand printing solutions for all packaging markets, from highly-regulated pharma, cosmetics, food and medical to packaging converters. Hapa‘s solutions work through the packaging process which results in lower unit costs and efficiency but without compromises in security or quality.

In addition Hapa ink offers custom inks in small volumes which is ideal for micro runs and special promotions.

History

  • 1933 – foundation of Hapa
  • 1960 – from early 1960‘s to the late 1990‘s more than 9,000 „Duma overprinting machines“ are produced
  • 1970 – Hapa introduced first flexographic aluminum foil printer
  • 1980 – Hapa started production „Hapa 400“ printing and labelling systems
  • 1990 – introduction of „UV Flexo Hapa 200“ for foils, leaflets, carton and lidding materials, the „Hapa 500 Print Mat Engraving systems“, „Hapa 700 Digiprint“, based on UV digital technology
  • 1996 – in a partnership with Eli Lilly and Company, Hapa develops the pioneering „White Lines System“
  • 2000 – Hapa is actively researching reliable and efficient drop on demand (DOD) print systems
  • 2007 – introduction of „Hapa 800“, a fully-digital Drop on Demand inkjet systems
  • 2010 – introduction of „CartonJet“, „BrailleJez“ , „UV Flexo EasyFlex“ and „UV DOD DigiMATIC“ plus the compact print module „Redcube“
  • 2011 - Hapa acquires Gottscho Printing Systems Inc.
  • 2012 - Hapa implements Lean Management to improve production and process flows
  • 2013 – Hapa creates it‘s own ink business: Hapa Ink
  • 2014 – launch of „Universal Label Printer“
  • 2015 – introduction of „Hapa 862“, a modular and scaleable CMYK/4-spot-color printing solution and „Redcube Plus“
  • 2016 – introduction of „BlisterJet CMYK“, full-color to blister printer
  • 2017 – Web 4.0 platform‘S 2-color, digital printing systems for printing on web-fed materials is premiered
