The group employs approximately 750 people, operates 9 subsidiaries in France, UK, Germany, USA, Russia, China, Spain and Brazil and has 5 production facilities in Italy, one in Brazil and one in USA. Aetna operates in more than 120 countries and provides global customer services.

The Group production ranges from semi-automatic wrapping machines with smart technology to innovative automatic solutions, from industrial wrapping machines to shrink wrapping machines and cartoning machines, to tailor made packaging solutions.

History

Originally AETNA GROUP started 1980 when the small company ROBOPAC, based in the republic of San Marino, developed a self-propelled robotic with rechargeable batteries and probe , which automatically turns around pallets of any size and shape, applying a stretchable film, which protects and stabilises the load.

The company soon became an international leader in the field of semi-automatic machines for stretchable film application with the aim of stabilising palletised loads. Over the time Robopac developed an range of rotating tables, horizontal wrapping machines for elongated products, packaging machines for heat-shrink film application and taping machines.

ROBOPAC SISTEMI was created in 1987 and started the production of systems and automatic machines to stabilise palletised loads with film that is stretchable up to 100 pallets/hour.

The company aquired DIMAC in 1989 which produces a wide range of continuous film shrink wrappers with heat-shrink film and high and medium speed wrap-around cartoning machines, tray packers and packaging machines for can caps for various fields (food, beverages, pharmaceutical, etc.).

2010 AETNA GROUP incorporated PRASMATIC, a company specialised in designing, manufacturing, and installation of packaging and wrapping systems in heat-shrink film and cardboard for various sectors, including food, beverages, dairy, home and personal care etc.
