Based in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, QPET is a family owned enterprise and was founded in 1996. QPET manufactures preforms, PET bottles, jars and closures. The countrywide QPET offices and plants are situated in Pietermaritzburg, Johannesburg and Cape Town. Modern state of the art production equipment and processes are implemented in the manufacturing and supply process. QPET manufactures one of the largest range of preforms in South Africa.
Currently QPET supplies products and services to the edible oil, chemical, Jars, water, CSD (carbonated soft drink) and food industries in South Africa and is also a major supplier of pre-forms to various two stage operations locally & internationally.
QPET has also embarked on a programme whereby certain customers are encouraged to return post-consumer PET bottles which are then granulated and ground and the material mixed with virgin PET and then used in certain non-food grade applications.
With constant focus on cost control QPET enables low cost, efficient manufacturing of PET products which in turn places the company in an excellent position to expand into a variety of markets such as pre-form supplies & blow moulding operations throughout Africa.
Through the use of world class injection and blow moulding equipment, QPET ensures all clients the highest standard in volume output, environmentally friendly lightweight bottles.
A wide range of pre-forms are manufactured using state of the art European injection moulders, enabling the supply of excellent quality preforms to their highly efficient blow moulders and to their customers blow moulding operations throughout Africa.
Bottles are produced at high speed, packed, warehoused and delivered, resulting in JIT manufacturing and delivery with lead times of one week and less.
Products
QPET manufactures a wide range of PET bottles from 200mls to 20ltr. The bottles and closures produced are suitable for the chemical, food and carbonated cold drink markets. The pre-forms range from 10gms to 370gms with neck finishes ranging from 15mm to 63mm.
